If you are on will call service, measure your tank. It is up to you to keep track of your oil level. To avoid having furnace problems, it is best to not let the oil level get too low. Order oil when your tank will take a minimum of 175 gallons. This is normally about 1/3 full.
Ballard Oil Company will keep track of your oil using the industry standard degree day system. We will deliver your oil when your tank is approximately 1/3 full. This is the most cost effective way to get your oil. We offer a $.10/gallon discount for automatic service customers for payment within 15 days.
Check fuses or circuit breakers. The furnace won't run without power.
Check your oil level.
If you have plenty of oil, turn your thermostat up all the way.
Press the reset button on your furnace, no more than once .
If the furnace starts and continues to run, readjust your thermostat for your comfort level.
If the furnace does not start or continue to run, then contact a qualified burner serviceman.
In general we deliver to the greater Seattle area west of Lake Washington from Burien in the south to Lynnwood in the north. Special consideration may be given for customers outside this area. Please contact our office for details.
Most no heat calls will be covered by your contract. Read your contract and call for details. Service calls that are not no heat emergency calls are also normally covered by contract, if they are done during normal weekday service hours.
Warm air furnaces should be cleaned every 5-6 years unless the serviceman sees the need to clean more often.
Hot water boilers may need cleaning more often.
